Mutts 019.jpg

There are 3 amazing things about Mutt Lynch's in Newport Beach:
1) The amazing size of the schooner beers are like WMDs for sobriety.
2) The amazing size of mimosa schooners use a whole bottle of champagne, again WMDs.
3) The number of sweat glands in Newport Beach increases 100 times when people from the IE (inland empire) flood into Mutts for the iconic beach bar that it is.

Mutts is a great place to watch NFL at the end of the peak beach going season. The people watching opportunities and Mutt Lynch's are hard to beat. Newport peninsula has a boardwalk that provides a nonstop source of local entertainment. From beach babes to beach bumbs, the free human entertainment is practically non-stop.

By far the best were those tanked and already 86'ed from Mutt's. Imagine seeing fratboys who can't hold their liquor trying to run a PR campaign with the bouncers in order to beg their way back into the bar. We'll be back soon.

Welcome to the part of Lake Forest, CA that is Boscoes Sports Grill. Boscoes boasts video games, pool tables, and an old school bar. Boscoes has plenty of TVs for watching sports. Boscoes even has a stage for talent. Boscoes stays true to it's name by offering a grill with a typical sports bar menu. The menu offers lots of opportunities for fried food. All the food seemed a bit pricey for us. The food price point didn't really match the dive bar spirit that the rest of the place provides.

Garfs has pool tables, a short shuffleboard table, and Golden Tee Golf game. These are just some of the things that will help you forget that you need the highest strength prescription beer goggles in order to observe any of the women that frequent Garf's.

Besides that, Garf's has plenty of TVs to keep you entertained with sports shows or America's Funniest Home Videos. Order something off of the happy hour menu, but just make sure that its fried.

Garf's also has parking for motorized wheelchair scooters.

Ohhhh the Trackside. Welcomed with open arms but left with the feeling it was our time to leave. The initially friendly environment offers Keno, a pool table, an oddly enough very updated CD jukebox....and a bounced check fee.

Overall, cool bar...just don't look straight into the eyes of the two fellows at the end/corner of the bar who seemed to be permanent fixtures there, or you may leave without some teeth.

The locals at the Poop Deck are not shy about one thing: Whiskey. While I was there I was able to sample at least 3 different kinds of Whiskey, play keno, and meet an old friend. Out back behind the Poop Deck, I spotted the old sign that consisted of broken pieces of plastic that has a ship's wheel.

I also spotted the custom printed promotional NASCAR scheduled emblazoned with the Poop Deck's name. I wonder if this location has any relation to the Poop Deck in Hermosa Beach, CA. I guess we'll have to make the trip there to find out.

One could nearly spend a lifetime documenting all of the Strange Bars in Omaha NE. The Nifty Bar & Grill on NW Radial Hwy was once the king of all Dive Bars in Omaha. Since a recent change in ownership the Nifty has tuned up it's image considerably

75 cent drafts of Old Milwakee have been replaced by beer buckets. They now have an outdoor smoking patio for the most regal of guests.

You can bet your ass that they still have Jerry Jeff Walker playing "On the Cover of the Rolling Stone" on a near hourly replay.
